Life with a puppy

Jack is almost 4 months old now and he is a total mess. He has been a great puppy thus far. He is very smart and learns quickly, but is still a puppy too. He thinks that everyone who crosses his path is there to see him!

Quick story: I found this great park in Athens with a lake and a 15 acre dog park. Bo and I took Jack there on Saturday to let him swim and play fetch. We took him off the leash to let him swim out to retrieve his frisbee in the lake. Well... he caught a glimpse of a nice couple on a stroll along the path behind us and zipped right by us to go tell them hello. She had on a nice floral dress and he had on kahki pants. Needless to say they both left the park with muddy puppy paw prints on the front of their pretty cloths. How do you keep a swimming puppy on a leash??? I guess I need to figure that one out!
Here are a few pictures of what the Reverand Jack Aroo Lancaster the 1st has been up to lately.

Jack has discovered the endless supply of fresh water that the toilet provides!

This brings a whole new meaning to "doing" the laundry!
Tasteless I know... but it was darn funny!!!

Going to the farm wears Jack out. You can often find him curled up on the couch in the camper in the AC!

Jack went on a camp visit with me last Monday and had the time of his short little life! The kids had so much fun swimming with him.

He loves riding on the boat and got so excited when we drove past the big water trampoline and slide. He wanted to go play on it too!

Jack was a very happy camper and looks forward to visiting again next summer. He literally slept for 2 days after such an active day!

Meet Jack

So... we got a dog. Now let me explain how this came about.
Bo and I have been talking about wanting to get a dog for quite a while now. But with Bo's crazy schedule, our lack of an official "commitment", trying to get his house sold, me moving from an apartment into a house recently, planned vacations and everything else that you can think of that could be on our plates, we decided to wait until some of that mess cleared the air. Well that was the decision we made up until Bo watched Oprah last Thursday.
I had set the recorder at his house to record the Oprah episode about "Puppy Mills" because I do not have cable at my house yet. Bo got home from work on Thursday and watched it. It apparently changed his mind because his declairation was, "Today is the day that I am getting a dog". So, with that said, it was off to the Pet Superstore to look for a Black Lab.
The rest is history. Bo and I both are totally smitten with this dog. He is so cute and very smart. I am sure to have plenty of puppy stories to blog about later. For now, here are some pictures:

Flip That House

I am getting ready to move back into the house I grew up in as a child. My Dad has rented it out to family members for several years. I lived there for a couple of years when I returned home from Valdosta. Since then it has been home to my cousin Mandi and her husband, then my older sister and her crew. Needless to say, the house needed a little work.
My Dad and I have taken on the project of renovating the house on a tight budget. What an adventure this has been. Every room has been painted, new carpet has gone in, we had bead board panel and a chair rail put into the dining room, every fan blade has been dusted and globes washed, 5 years of oak tree leaves removed from the yard, kitchen cabinet doors replaced, appliances scrubbed... you get the picture.
The movers come Friday to move Jessica and I out of the apartment and into the house. I can't wait!
I will post some pictures once we get moved in and boxes unpacked.

Bleeding Love

If you haven't heard the song "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis, you must go to iTunes and download it. This song basically sums up my life and the love that I have rediscovered in the past year.

I heard an incredible quote today, "My mate has finally met my soul." This is where I am right now...at this point of discovery. I have put it all out there. Its on the table, by heart is exposed and I am vulnerable, but surprisingly enough, I am not scared. I am anxious to see where my life goes from here, I am living in the moment but am looking forward to the future, whatever that may be.

I wish you all the love and happiness I feel in my life right now!

A little behind

I know I am falling behind on this posting thing... it's alot to get used to doing.

Life, as usual, has been pretty hectic. Work is keeping me super busy, Bo and I continue to play as much as possible and I have now taken on the project of helping my Dad remodel his old house for my sister and I to move in to in May!

Since I last posted I spent Easter weekend on Lake Oconee with Bo's family and went to Montreal for a work conference for 4 days and had my first ever experience with the Masters.

Of course Easter was fun. It is always great to spend time with family and play with the kids. Both boys are growing like crazy!

Montreal was very neat. I think I enjoyed the city more then the conference. It was a beautiful city, very historic and cold! The churches are the most amazingly beautiful buildings I have ever seen in my life.
Going to the Masters is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. I have a whole new outlook on the game of golf. Augusta National is truely a little slice of Heaven that is located right here in GA!

I have nothing huge on the calendar in the next couple of months except working and moving, but I promise to try my best to post more often.

Here are a few pictures:

Fun couple of weeks!

We've had a fun couple of weeks here lately which has been much needed. Between work trying to become the death of me (ie. United Way, golf tournament planning, Falcons Fotness Zone, ect.) and Bo being Mr. Adventure with the "Black Pearl" (don't ask) it was time for us to take a break from what had become a chaotic life.
At the end of February we took the camper for a trip to Pigeon Forge, TN with Bo's family. We were hoping to see snow, which we did, but didn't think about what that meant in terms of taking 3 campers up and over a mountain. So what was supposed to take around 3 and 1/2 hours to get up there ended up taking over 6 hours when it was all said and done. None the less, we made it and had a terrific time. We spent Saturday riding go-carts and watching Sam with his first experience at carnival rides.
The following week Bo and I took our annual spring vacation, this year to Cozumel, Mexico! It was absolutely beautiful. We went with Matt and Kristy Winter (friends of Bo's from college) and had a fantastic time. We stayed at and all-inclusive resort called Cozumel Palace, which we have decided is the only way to book a vacation! All you can eat and drink anytime day or night! I seriously think I ate my weight in freshly prepared guacamole! I even took a class to learn how to make it one afternoon, poolside! We also did an excursion where we got to swim with dolphins. We had a terrific time and are already planning on when we can go back again!
Here are some pictures from both trips.

Of course Sam's favorite ride was the airplanes!

Snorkeling right off the resort.

Instead of bar stools, they had bar swings at Senor Frogs!

Senoritas in sombreros!

I have other pictures from swimming with the dolphins, I just haven't loaded them on this computer yet. I will get those up as soon as possible.

Sorry for the confusion!!!

After going back and reading my first two posts on the blog... I realized that I made it sound like I had a baby.
Let me clear the air here.... baby Jake is not my baby... he is Tammy's (Bo's sister) baby!
Jake is Bo's nephew, so by we I meant the family was waiting his arrival!

No kids for me!!!

Thank you to all of you who called or emailed me and thought that I was keeping a big secret!

More from the past year...

Alot of my summer was spent in the camper either at the farm or on the road. With all of Bo's family having their own campers too... we were all over the place! Our favorite place to visit was Lake Keowee in South Carolina.
After my adventureous summer I was ready to slow it down a bit and spend some down time with Bo. Here are some more pictures to give you and idea of what down time means to me.

Watching Bo put a new exhaust on his turck!

Going to UGA football games. GO DAWGS!

Hanging out at the pool with Shar.

At the wedding of one of Bo's college friends.

Taking Sam on his first plane ride!

Sam sat in my lap and helped Bo fly the plane.

Took Sam to the Air Show in Athens.

I got to spend a lot of time with Bo and his family this fall too while we waited the arrival of Baby Jake! He was born on October 11th and had to have open heart surgery at 6 days old. He has come through everything splendidly and is growing so fast. Here are some pictures of him and his progression.

My first visit with baby Jake.

After surgery, sleeping peacefully.

5 weeks after surgery! He is a chunker now.

As you can see, I've been a little busy, but have enjoyed every minute of it. Christmas and New Years were fantastic and I got to spend some good quality time with family. We spent alot of time in the basement playing Rock Band. We formed the group Sir Agony, which we later refered to as Pure Agony! If you haven't played that game yet... it is a must. If you want to laugh your tail off at yourself and make total fun of your own sheer lack of musical talent, give it a try! I've got pictures of that I will post later.

All of that brings me to now. It is almost the end of January 2008 already! Oh my, where has the year gone? I look forward to sharing more as I continue along in this new year and new adventure I call My Life!

Here I go!

After spending the past year bouncing between several forms of mass communication, ie. Facebook, Myspace, work e-mail, hotmail, gmail, AIM, you name it... I've decided to become a blogger! (Thank you Tammy for bringing me down) So here I am.
It's a new year and the beginning of what I hope to be something amazing. Last year was a bit trying on me. Although Bo and I found each other again and that part of my life was fantastic, the rest of the year wad filled with change, re-learning who I was and what I wanted, settling in to the unknown (still working on that part), getting comfortable in the new job and a lot more. So I am ready for this... I have a year of uneasyness and unsettledness under my belt, my slate is clean and I am ready for whatever is in store for me.
I hope you enjoy hearing about my journey!

Here is a glimpse into some of mine and Bo's adventures in the past year.

We started our adventure together with a trip to Harbour Island, Bahamas! It was amazing!

We went with Ed and Susan Pitman. Ed and Bo flew us in Ed's 4-seater plane!

Meet Ladybug!

After months or riding behind Bo on his 4-wheeler, I decided that I wanted to drive!

Then came the camper... this is pretty much how we spent out summer! Redneck Paradise!
